The second Pole of Inaccessibility that the Turner Twins successfully reached was located in the heart of Brazil in the state of Mato Grosso.
The Turner Twins became the first people to reach and document this Pole. Starting their cycle from the north-west coast of Chile in Arica, the cycle took them over the Andes Mountains (ascending 33kms on their bikes), across the Atacama desert and salt flats, eventually crossing the world’s largest swamp area, The Pantanal. The journey covered 2,500kms and took 34 days.
