The Quintet Earth Blue Pole Project set out across the Atlantic to conduct a plastic survey testing a hydrogen fuel cell
The Blue Pole Project set out to reach the Atlantic pole of inaccessibility, supporting a plastic research survey for Plymouth University's, International Marine Litter Research Unit, and also testing hydrogen fuel cell technology in a subsequent nationwide tour of the UK. The project was also testing a new and more environmentally friendly antifoul which has been developed by Finsulate. Along for the ride and documenting the adventure was OBR (on board reporter) Patrick Condy and Nikon ambassador, George Karbus, with fellow crew Lisa Kingston. Unfortunately, the team missed out on reaching the pole of inaccessibility due to unfavourable weather and engine limitations.
